- Contributing Citizen Scholarships
- High Achiever Scholarships
While applicants can indicate their preferred category, the Scholarship Committee may also consider applications under an alternative category. Our program emphasizes supporting families for whom a scholarship would significantly ease financial barriers, ensuring greater access to St Michael’s renowned educational experience.
Key Details for 2026 Scholarships Now Open
- Scholarships are available for students entering Years 5 to 11 in 2026, continuing through to Year 12 (subject to ongoing review and progress).
- Scholarship coverage ranges from 25% to 100% of tuition fees (excluding levies) based on financial need.
- The number of scholarships awarded each year depends on the strength of the applicant pool and available funding.
- Recipients are paired with dedicated mentors to guide their educational and extracurricular journeys.
Contributing Citizen Scholarships
Rooted in the school’s core values of Dignity, Respect, Care, and Compassion, Contributing Citizen Scholarships recognize new students who exemplify strong community spirit and a commitment to positively impact society. Successful candidates are reliable contributors to civic life and demonstrate leadership across various fields, including:
- Sport
- Performing Arts
- Visual Arts and Design
- Science and Technology
- Environmental Sustainability
- Social Justice
- Academia

- Other community endeavors
Applicants must provide evidence of their contributions and align with the school’s mission to develop well-rounded, socially responsible individuals. Means-testing is strongly recommended for families seeking financial assistance.
High Achiever Scholarships
High Achiever Scholarships celebrate students with exceptional talent and a track record of excellence in one or more areas. These awards are open to both new and current students who display outstanding potential in:
- Academic Excellence (general or subject-specific)
- Sport
- Performing Arts (e.g., music, dance, drama)
- Visual Arts and Design
- Science and Technology
Recipients are expected to actively engage in school programs, nurturing their skills and contributing to the vibrant life of St Michael’s. For music-related applications, meeting specified AMEB standards is required.
In addition, the Head of School may award discretionary scholarships, recognizing exceptional candidates based on recommendations from the Scholarship Committee.

- 31 October 2024: Applications open
- 20 January 2025: Applications close
- 1 February 2025: AAS Scholarship Exam at St Michael’s
- 8 February 2025: Performing Arts auditions (for eligible students)
- Mid to late March 2025: Candidate interviews
- Late March 2025: Scholarship decisions and exam results released
How to Apply for 2026 Scholarships Now Open
St Michael’s partners with Academic Assessment Services (AAS) for application management and testing. Here are the steps to apply:
- Complete the Scholarship Application: Submit your application through AAS.
- Attend the Scholarship Exam: All applicants must sit the AAS exam on 1 February 2025.
- Performing Arts Auditions: Eligible students will audition on 8 February 2025.
- Interview: Shortlisted applicants will interview with a St Michael’s Executive member to discuss their achievements and academic performance.
- Scholarship Offer: Based on the application, family circumstances, and interview, scholarships ranging from 25% to 100% tuition remission will be offered in writing by the Head of School.
- Receive Exam Results: All applicants will receive their academic test results at the end of the scholarship process.
