As a Tourism Information Officer, you will actively contribute to shaping memorable visitor journeys while supporting the growth of the local tourism industry.
About the Role
In this dynamic and customer-focused role, you will serve as the frontline representative of Wairoa’s tourism services. You will warmly welcome visitors, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate, engaging, and helpful information to both tourists and local residents.
Moreover, you will promote local attractions, accommodation, events, and services while ensuring every interaction reflects professionalism and hospitality. Because of your efforts, visitors will leave with positive experiences and a strong desire to return.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide accurate and up-to-date tourism information
- Recommend local attractions, activities, and services
- Promote regional events, culture, and heritage
- Handle inquiries in person, over the phone, and via email
- Maintain a clean, organized, and inviting information centre
- Support administrative and operational tasks as required
