Job Details and Working Conditions
This Picker and Packer position offers attractive hourly pay along with structured working hours during a defined project period. Candidates must be fully available during the required dates to be considered.
Position: Picker and Packer (RF Scanning Required)
Location: Hume, Canberra ACT, Australia
Pay Rate: $39.65 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
Job Type: Part-Time with Full-Time Hours During Assignment
Working Dates: Guaranteed shifts between 11th May to 20th May
Availability Requirement: Full availability across all scheduled dates is essential
Key Responsibilities of a Picker and Packer
As a Picker and Packer, you will be responsible for handling warehouse operations efficiently and accurately. Your daily tasks will involve working with modern warehouse systems and maintaining high productivity levels.
Your main duties will include:
Accurately picking and packing customer orders using RF scanning technology
Ensuring all items are correctly labelled and prepared for dispatch
Following order sheets and instructions carefully in English
Maintaining cleanliness and organization within the warehouse
Handling stock safely while complying with workplace health and safety standards
Working collaboratively with team members to meet daily targets
Performing repetitive manual handling tasks, including lifting and moving items
Required Skills and Experience
To succeed in this role, candidates must demonstrate a combination of technical skills, physical capability, and reliability. Previous warehouse experience is beneficial; however, candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.
Essential skills and qualifications include:
Proven experience in picking and packing or warehouse operations (preferred)
Hands-on experience using RF scanners (mandatory)
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
Ability to read and understand English instructions and order sheets
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Physically fit and capable of lifting and performing repetitive tasks
Reliable, punctual, and committed to completing assigned shifts
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong awareness of workplace safety practices

A current Police Check issued within the last 6 months
Full Australian working rights (no exceptions)
Availability to work all shifts between 11th and 20th May
