About Southern Paprika Limited (SPL)

Southern Paprika Limited (SPL) is a leading New Zealand greenhouse specialist based in Warkworth, Auckland. We grow premium capsicums, tomatoes, and snack cucumbers across 26 hectares of modern glasshouse facilities.

SPL currently operates a successful capsicum packhouse and is excited to launch a brand-new tomato packhouse onsite in March 2026. Our produce is supplied to major domestic retailers as well as selected export markets, maintaining high standards of quality, freshness, and food safety.

The Role

We are expanding and invite you to be part of our growth journey. We currently have nine exciting opportunities available in our new tomato packhouse, including:

• Permanent positions
• Casual roles
• Fixed-term contracts

We are seeking motivated, reliable team players with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, quality-focused, and committed to maintaining efficiency in a fast-paced production environment.

This role is hands-on and requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a commitment to maintaining high food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tomato Packhouse Worker, your responsibilities will include:

• Packing tomatoes according to company and customer specifications
• Preparing cartons, punnets, trays, and other packing materials
• Operating bagging and punnet machines safely and efficiently
• Inspecting produce and identifying substandard or damaged fruit
• Removing rejected fruit in line with quality procedures
• Assisting in maintaining hygiene and food safety standards
• Providing support and backup across various packhouse positions when required
• Working efficiently to meet daily production targets

Our Ideal Candidate

We are looking for individuals who demonstrate:

• A reasonable level of physical fitness to meet the demands of a busy production role
• Ability to safely lift up to 20kg
• Strong and effective communication skills
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Practical thinking skills and initiative
• Reliability and punctuality
• Flexibility to work varying hours, including peak seasonal periods and public holidays

Previous experience in a packhouse, warehouse, or production environment is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
