Position Overview
Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabricator Welder / Heavy Engineering Tradesperson to join our professional team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects involving trucks, trailers, buses, and heavy machinery.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality fabrication, repairs, and maintenance work while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out fabrication and welding work on trucks, trailers, buses, and heavy equipment
- Perform repairs, modifications, and new builds to industry standards
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
- Ensure all work meets quality control standards and project requirements
- Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding machines
- Work both independently and collaboratively within a skilled workshop team
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
- Strictly follow Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures and regulations
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder or Welding Tradesperson
- Background in heavy engineering, structural steel, or mechanical repairs
- Strong expertise in:
- MIG Welding
- TIG Welding
- ARC Welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
- Experience working with trucks, trailers, or heavy machinery (highly desirable)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Strong time management and organizational abilities
- Commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship standards
- Willingness to obtain or hold certifications such as:
- ISO 9606-1 (Welding Certification)
- AS/NZS 2980 (Welding Supervisor Certification)
