Position Overview

Due to continued expansion, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Fabricator Welder / Heavy Engineering Tradesperson to join our professional team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects involving trucks, trailers, buses, and heavy machinery.

The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring high-quality fabrication, repairs, and maintenance work while maintaining strict adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out fabrication and welding work on trucks, trailers, buses, and heavy equipment
  • Perform repairs, modifications, and new builds to industry standards
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Ensure all work meets quality control standards and project requirements
  • Operate welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding machines
  • Work both independently and collaboratively within a skilled workshop team
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
  • Strictly follow Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) procedures and regulations

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience as a Fabricator Welder or Welding Tradesperson
  • Background in heavy engineering, structural steel, or mechanical repairs
  • Strong expertise in:
    • MIG Welding
    • TIG Welding
    • ARC Welding
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and fabrication plans
  • Experience working with trucks, trailers, or heavy machinery (highly desirable)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management and organizational abilities
  • Commitment to maintaining high-quality workmanship standards
  • Willingness to obtain or hold certifications such as:
    • ISO 9606-1 (Welding Certification)
    • AS/NZS 2980 (Welding Supervisor Certification)
