Costco Wholesale is seeking a reliable and hardworking Car Park Attendant to join our team in Majura, Canberra. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, staying active, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Duties and Responsibilities
- Patrol the car park throughout business hours to collect shopping trolleys and flatbeds.
- Safely gather trolleys in groups of no more than 8–10 at a time.
- Secure trolleys using the designated cart rope system and return them to the front of the warehouse.
- Collect and return flatbeds while following all safety and security procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the car park by removing boxes, rubbish, and other debris.
- Sweep the entrance area of the warehouse and empty garbage bins as required.
- Clean spills and remove damaged or broken products when necessary.
- Identify damaged trolleys or flatbeds, tag them appropriately, and move them to the designated repair area.
- Assist members with loading merchandise into their vehicles, providing prompt, friendly, and courteous customer service.
- Conduct final checks around the building at closing time to ensure all trolleys are collected and stored correctly.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and operational procedures.
Additional Duties
- Provide support to other areas within the department when required.
- Assist other warehouse departments as needed.
- Operate equipment such as the mechanical trash compactor and cardboard baler in accordance with safety guidelines.
