An exciting opportunity is now available for one experienced Welder and one experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the team based on a key client site in Kawerau, Bay of Plenty. These are hands-on positions within a fast-paced industrial environment, supporting maintenance, repair, shutdown, and project activities while ensuring high standards of safety and performance.

Welder Position
Key Responsibilities
As a Welder, your duties may include:
- Performing welding and fabrication work using mild steel and stainless steel
- Carrying out plant repairs, maintenance, and modifications
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and fabrication plans
- Operating welding and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
- Assisting with shutdown maintenance and project work
- Conducting site-based installation and repair activities
- Ensuring all welding work meets quality and safety standards
- Inspecting completed work for accuracy and structural integrity
- Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe and organised condition
- Working collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, and maintenance teams
Ideal Skills and Experience
- Trade qualification in Welding, Fabrication, or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience in industrial or heavy industry environments
- Strong welding and fabrication abilities
- Experience with stainless steel and mild steel fabrication
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety procedures
- Reliable work ethic and attention to detail
Mechanical Fitter Position
Key Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Fitter, your responsibilities may include:
- Maintenance and repair of mechanical plant and industrial equipment
- Diagnosing faults and responding to breakdowns efficiently
- Performing installation, assembly, and alignment work
- Supporting planned shutdowns and preventative maintenance programs
- Carrying out inspections and identifying mechanical issues
- Working on pumps, conveyors, rotating equipment, motors, and associated plant machinery
- Assisting with continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
- Maintaining accurate maintenance records where required
- Following all site safety procedures and operational standards
- Collaborating with maintenance teams and site personnel
Ideal Skills and Experience
- Trade qualification in Mechanical Fitting or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working within industrial manufacturing or heavy industry environments
- Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and maintenance documentation
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and plant equipment
- Strong focus on safety, quality workmanship, and efficiency
- Good communication and teamwork skills
