Key Responsibilities
- Herd Management: Overseeing a 600-cow herd with a focus on high-production metrics.
- Rotary Operations: Efficiently managing milking sessions in a modern 50-unit rotary shed.
- Paddock Rotations: Implementing best practices for grazing and animal nutrition across 6,250 acres.
- Stock Management: Excellence in dairy stock handling, calf rearing, and heifer management.
- Reporting: Maintaining high-level communication with the farm owners regarding performance and strategy.
Requirements: What You Need to Succeed
Green Plains Dairy is looking for a professional who takes “Respect and Pride” in the industry.
- Experience: Proven background in dairy farming and excellence in animal husbandry.
- Equipment: As a Share-Farmer, you must provide your own herding vehicles (Ute, Quadbike) and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Business Ready: You must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) as you will receive payments directly from the milk company.
- Skills: Strong focus on Workplace Health and Safety (WHS), time management, and the ability to work unsupervised.
The Meningie Lifestyle
