About the Role
As a Fabricator – Fitter/Welder, you will be responsible for manufacturing, assembling, fitting, and welding components used in robotic and material handling systems. You will work from engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate precision components while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
The role offers a varied workload involving stainless steel, aluminium, and mild steel fabrication, allowing you to further develop your trade skills while contributing to innovative engineering projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Read, interpret, and work from engineering drawings, plans, and technical specifications.
- Fabricate, assemble, and fit mechanical components and structures.
- Perform MIG, TIG, and Arc welding to a high professional standard.
- Manufacture components using aluminium, stainless steel, and mild steel materials.
- Conduct sheet metal fabrication, cutting, shaping, and assembly work.
- Ensure all fabricated products meet company quality standards and customer specifications.
- Operate workshop machinery and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist with installation, maintenance, and repair projects when required.
- Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative workshop team.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Follow workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
- Complete assigned projects within required deadlines while maintaining quality workmanship.
Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- Proven experience as a Fabricator, Fitter, Welder, or related engineering tradesperson.
- Relevant engineering trade qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong fabrication and fitting skills within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with sheet metal fabrication (highly desirable).
- Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
- Competency in:
- Stainless Steel MIG Welding
- Stainless Steel TIG Welding
- Mild Steel MIG Welding
- Arc Welding
- Experience fabricating aluminium and stainless steel products.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety practices.
- Reliable work ethic and positive attitude.
- Good communication skills and a sound command of the English language.
