Position Overview

Micron Technology is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented R&D Engineer to join its Technology and Products Group (TPG) in Taiwan. This role focuses on advanced semiconductor packaging, product engineering, and next-generation memory solutions.

As part of this team, you will play a critical role in the research, development, qualification, and manufacturing readiness of advanced memory products. You will work closely with global experts and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and scalable solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Advanced Packaging Process Development

  • Develop, optimize, and characterize advanced semiconductor packaging processes, including interconnect technologies, assembly, and integration.
  • Conduct Design of Experiments (DOE) and detailed data analysis to improve yield, performance, and cost efficiency.
  • Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, and process teams to transfer new technologies into high-volume production.
  • Perform root cause analysis and troubleshoot process-related issues.
  • Support failure analysis and reliability testing for advanced packaging technologies.

2. Product Engineering & Lifecycle Management

  • Manage product engineering activities throughout the entire product lifecycle, from development to qualification and production ramp-up.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, and process teams to resolve product and process challenges.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as yield, reliability, and product performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and efficiency.
  • Support customer requirements including technical reviews, documentation, and qualification processes.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Materials Science
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Chemical Engineering
    • Or a related discipline
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Semiconductor manufacturing processes
    • Process integration
    • Data analysis techniques
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, cross-functional, and global environment
  • Strong communication skills in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with advanced semiconductor packaging technologies, such as:
    • 3D integration
    • Advanced substrates
    • Bumping and interconnect technologies
  • Experience in:
    • Product yield analysis
    • Reliability engineering
    • High-volume manufacturing environments
  • Knowledge of:
    • Statistical analysis tools
    • Design of Experiments (DOE) methodologies
  • Familiarity with:
    • DRAM / HBM technologies
    • Digital design and circuit concepts
    • Programming languages (Python, C/C++, Verilog)
