The ideal candidate will have experience preparing surfaces, applying coatings, and working safely at heights while maintaining strict quality standards. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills.

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent

Experience

  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in residential or commercial painting
  • Entry-level candidates with basic hands-on experience are encouraged to apply

Key Responsibilities

As a Professional Painter, your duties will include:

Surface Preparation

  • Prepare, clean, scrape, and sand surfaces prior to painting
  • Fill cracks, holes, and imperfections using appropriate compounds
  • Remove old paint, wallpaper, and debris
  • Mask and protect adjacent surfaces

Painting & Finishing

  • Mix and match paint colours and textures to client specifications
  • Apply primers, sealers, and finishing coats using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment
  • Perform paint spraying for smooth, high-quality finishes
  • Apply stains, varnishes, and specialty coatings
  • Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and decorative wall coverings

Equipment & Safety

  • Erect scaffolding, ladders, and swing stages
  • Attach rigging and ensure safe work practices at heights
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
  • Follow workplace safety regulations and protective equipment standards

Client Interaction & Estimation

  • Advise clients on colour selection and wall covering options
  • Provide cost and material estimates for painting projects
  • Maintain professional communication and client satisfaction

Experience and Specialization

  • Paint spraying and finishing techniques
  • Residential and commercial coatings
  • Knowledge of modern painting tools and equipment
  • Understanding of surface preparation standards
