Key Responsibilities as a Welder/Fabricator

  • Vehicle Assembly: Install parts on commercial vehicles, including freezer bodies. This requires strict adherence to manufacturer procedures and a commitment to high standards.
  • Fabrication & Welding: Use welding and fabricating techniques to assemble vehicle bodies. This includes reading and interpreting technical drawings and working within set timelines.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Complete all necessary compliance paperwork accurately, ensuring that every project meets company and regulatory standards.
  • Self-Motivation & Initiative: Work independently and efficiently, applying problem-solving skills to maintain workflow and productivity.

Qualifications and Experience for Welder/Fabricator Opportunity

  • Previous Experience: Ideal candidates will have experience as a Semi-skilled Fitter, Fabricator, Welder, Bodyshop MET Technician, Mechanic Strip Fitter, or Bodyshop Technician.
  • Certifications: City & Guilds or NVQ certifications in heavy vehicle mechanics, automotive mechanics/engineering, or mechanical engineering are preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with MOT standards, especially to VOSA guidelines, is highly desirable.
