Primary Purpose of Job
As an Oil Spill Response Technician, you will be an essential member of our state-of-the-art Oil Spill Response Team. Your expertise will be vital in the rapid and effective response, cleanup, and recovery of hydrocarbon spills within Qatar’s waters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in emergency response operations for oil spills at sea, following international, regional, and national regulations.
- Implement proven spill response techniques and strategies to minimize environmental impact.
- Operate and maintain specialized spill response equipment.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure a coordinated and efficient response effort.
- Maintain accurate records and reports of spill response activities.
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in pollution control organizations or the oil/gas industry (offshore/marine background is preferred).
- Thorough knowledge of spill response techniques, equipment, and safety protocols.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in emergency situations.
Education:
- Secondary Education (Grade 12) with relevant certificates in seamanship, safety practices, report writing, and English language.
- Additional training in oil spill response or related fields is a plus.
