Role Overview and Key Duties
As a Program Assistant, you will be crucial in ensuring the safety and development of children and youth in the U.S. Army CYS program, serving ages 6 weeks to 18 years.

Maintain control and account for the safety and whereabouts of all participants.

Plan and conduct activities that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of various age groups.

Establish and maintain a positive, engaging program environment.

Assist in setting up and maintaining indoor and outdoor activity areas.

Provide support and accommodations for children with special requirements.

Perform duties, if trained, such as administering medication, CPR, and first aid.

Legally required to report all suspected incidents of child abuse/neglect.

Maintain program records and complete daily reports.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must meet the following mandatory criteria for the Entry Level (CY-01) position:

Age: Must be at least 18 years of age at the time of appointment.

Education: Minimum of a High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).

Language: Must be able to communicate in English (orally and in writing).

Physical Ability: Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. (for CDC positions).

Background: Satisfactory completion of a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation.

U.S. Citizens and U.S. Nationals.

Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years.

Open to US Citizens and Non-US Citizens of a NATO Country (except Italy) residing in the local commuting area of Livorno.

Military Spouse Preference (MSP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) eligible candidates are included.
