Key Responsibilities: Hands-On Electronics in Oceanographic Projects

As an Electronics Technician specializing in oceanographic instrumentation, you’ll play a vital role in developing reliable tech for marine environments. Your contributions will directly support the Institute for Earth System Predictions (IESP) and GOCO’s mission to enhance global coastal ocean monitoring.

  • Design and Develop Electronic Circuits: Collaborate on custom circuits tailored for harsh ocean conditions, integrating analog, digital, and power electronics.
  • Calibrate Sensors and Build Data Acquisition Systems: Test and fine-tune sensors for accuracy in oceanographic data collection, using tools like oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • Perform Soldering and Assembly: Handle through-hole and SMD soldering for prototypes and field-ready devices.
