Key Responsibilities
The Well Operations Specialist role involves managing rigless wellwork operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance. Your key responsibilities include:
Core Duties

Wellwork Implementation: Execute all types of wellwork activities in QatarEnergy LNG’s offshore and onshore wells, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

Technologically Complex Operations: Implement advanced rigless wellwork techniques to maintain well integrity and optimize performance.

Program Compliance: Ensure proper programs, procedures, and guidelines are followed, reporting significant findings to the Head of Well Operations or Offshore Operations.

Equipment and Personnel Coordination: Arrange mobilization and demobilization of equipment and personnel, coordinating with contractors and QatarEnergy LNG divisions to support well intervention tasks.

Equipment Ascertain Fitness of Equipment: Inspect equipment, tools, and consumables at the site to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and adequately stocked, advising the Well Engineering team to prevent downtime.
Additional Responsibilities

Risk Management: Conduct Last Minute Risk Assessments and Toolbox Talks to mitigate risks and ensure crew awareness of potential hazards and mitigation measures.

Data Management: Analyze raw data, maintain records, and compile daily reports in Well View to capture relevant wellwork information accurately.

Well Handover: Implement safe and efficient well handover processes before or after rigless wellwork operations.

Safety Culture:. Promote QatarEnergy LNG’s Incident and Injury Free (IIF) Safety Culture and maintain blowout prevention awareness to avoid well control incidents.

Emergency Preparedness:. Maintain readiness for well control incidents, implement the Well Control Plan Emergency Response Plan as deputy on-scene commander, and conduct well control drills to ensure crew preparedness.

Cross-Disciplinary Coordination: Collaborate with Onshore and Offshore Operations, Maintenance, Drilling & Completions, Petroleum Engineering, SEQ, Warehouse, and other teams to maximize well utilization and minimize downtime.

Qualifications and Skills Needed
Essential Requirements
To qualify for the Well Operations Specialist job in Offshore Qatar, candidates must meet the following criteria:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Natural Gas, or Mechanical).

Experience: 8 years of experience in wellwork operations in the oil and gas industry, including at least 5 years in rigless wellwork operations (offshore or onshore). Experience with high-pressure, high-temperature, and toxic gas wells in offshore environments is preferred.

Certifications: IWCF Certified for Well Intervention & Pressure Control (Level-4).

Technical Knowledge:. Expertise in wellhead, tree, and surface equipment, subsurface equipment, cased hole and production logging, well and tubular design, rigless wellwork equipment (including pressure control equipment), and well barrier requirements.

Well Integrity Management: Familiarity with sustained casing pressure management, wellhead/X-mas tree, and downhole safety valve testing and maintenance.
