Job Overview
Southwestern Manufacturing Inc. is seeking a skilled Welder to join our team in Windsor, Ontario. As a Welder at our manufacturing plant, you will be responsible for interpreting welding specifications, operating advanced welding equipment, and ensuring the highest quality of custom fabrications. What Will I Be Doing?
As a Welder, your responsibilities will include:

  • Interpreting and applying welding process specifications and blueprints.
  • Operating manual, semi-automatic, and fully automated welding machines.
  • Utilizing Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) (TIG) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) techniques to fabricate or repair metal parts.
  • Operating cutting equipment, such as oxygen arc cutting (AOC).
  • Performing custom fabrication tasks, specializing in steel, iron, and heavy metals.
  • Ensuring the quality, accuracy, and safety of welding processes, and performing maintenance on equipment.
  • Handling physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Contributing to a fast-paced, physically demanding environment while maintaining attention to detail.

What Are We Looking For?

To succeed in this Welder position in Windsor, you should meet the following qualifications:

  • A Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate or equivalent experience in welding.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on welding experience, specializing in custom fabrication with steel, iron, and heavy metals.
  • Proficiency in GTAW (TIG) and FCAW welding techniques, as well as experience using arc welding and gas welding machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings, and manuals.
  • Strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and the ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces and noisy environments.
  • Must have own tools (including steel-toed safety boots, gloves, and welding helmet).
  • Transportation: Own vehicle required due to the remote work setting.
