Role Overview and Requirements

Our Class 4 truck drivers are essential to our business, ensuring our products are delivered safely, on time, and in excellent condition. For this role, you’ll need:

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Exceptional Customer Service Skills: You’ll represent Metro Glass to clients, so professionalism and friendly communication are key.
• Strong Presentation and Communication: We value clear, respectful communication with our customers and team.
• Class 4 License: A clean, current Class 4 license with a minimum of 2 years of driving experience is required.
• Physical Fitness: You’ll be responsible for loading and unloading glass products (including toughened shower panels, balustrades, and double-glazed units). We provide mechanical lifting gear for larger items.
• Flexibility in Work Hours: Willingness to work overtime as needed due to weather or road conditions is crucial.
• Solutions-Oriented Approach: “Can’t” isn’t part of our vocabulary—each delivery is approached with a problem-solving attitude.

Driving Routes and Hours:

• Out of Town Runs: Including locations such as Nelson, Cromwell, Dunedin, and Greymouth, with working hours typically from 1 am – 11 am.

Qualifications and Skills

• Current Class 4 License with at least 2 years of driving experience
• Strong physical condition to manage manual loading/unloading requirements
• Proven record of punctuality and reliability in previous roles
