Position Overview: Argentia Industrial Services is seeking dedicated Truck Drivers to join their team in Placentia, Newfoundland and Labrador. With a starting hourly rate of $23.67 and opportunities to work up to 60 hours per week, this full-time, permanent position offers a rewarding opportunity for individuals with a strong work ethic and passion for driving.

Key Responsibilities: Truck Driver 

• Provide professional customer service when delivering goods.
• Load and unload goods efficiently and safely.
• Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
• Oversee the maintenance and operation of various trucks and equipment.
• Report any vehicle malfunctions or issues to the supervisor immediately.
• Regularly check, lubricate, refuel, and clean equipment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Driver’s License: Class 1 or A (Semi-Trailer Trucks), Class 3 or D.
• Air Brake (Z) Endorsement required.
• Experience with roll-off trucks and straight trucks (4,600kg+ or 10,000lbs+ with 3+ axles).
• Knowledge of driver documentation, including accident reports, bills of lading, driver logbooks, inspection reports, and maintenance reports.

Job Requirements:

• Frequent or constant travel required due to varying work locations.
• Attention to detail is crucial.
• Physical demands include handling heavy loads and performing repetitive tasks.
• Personal safety equipment required: hard hat and steel-toed boots.

Security and Safety Requirements:

• Must undergo a criminal record check, driving record check, and driver’s validity license check.
• Own transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
