About the Role
The role of Truck Driver and Septic Tank Cleaner involves a combination of driving duties and hands-on cleaning work. You will primarily operate one of our specialized trucks to service septic tanks, ensuring that waste is collected, transported, and disposed of safely and efficiently. In addition to driving, you will be responsible for handling equipment, following proper procedures for cleaning septic tanks, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This position is part-time, offering flexibility while still providing a competitive hourly wage. The role suits someone who is physically fit, enjoys working outdoors, and is comfortable with manual work in a variety of conditions.
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate company trucks within the Taupo region, transporting waste to designated disposal facilities.

Carry out septic tank pumping and cleaning services according to established procedures, ensuring efficient and thorough service delivery.

Follow all company health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as industry regulations and New Zealand legislation.

Operate and maintain pumping equipment, hoses, and tools, ensuring they remain in good working condition.

Accurately complete job sheets, service records, and any digital reporting required for compliance and invoicing purposes.

Interact professionally with customers, providing clear explanations of services, answering basic queries, and maintaining a positive company image.

Maintain high standards of personal presentation, punctuality, and professionalism at all times.
Skills and Experience Required
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

A current New Zealand driver’s licence (Class 2 or higher).

A valid HT (Heavy Traffic) licence.

A valid Dangerous Goods (DG) licence.

Proven experience as a truck driver, preferably in the transport, logistics, or waste management industries.

The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to follow instructions and complete paperwork accurately.

Basic computer literacy to handle job-related reporting and communication.

A good understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S/WHS) regulations and a willingness to follow them at all times.

Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour, including lifting, bending, and handling hoses and equipment.
