Work Schedule

This is a full-time position requiring 35–40 hours per week. Work schedules may include early mornings, mornings, daytime, evenings, nights, and weekends, depending on transport requirements. Flexibility is essential as trucking assignments often vary in timing and duration.

Key Responsibilities

As a Truck Driver with JETTRUCKING LIMITED, you will be responsible for operating company trucks to transport goods and materials across local and cross-border routes. Duties include:

  • Driving as part of a two-person team or convoy to ensure safe and efficient delivery of goods.

  • Operating straight or articulated trucks, including dump trucks and tractor-trailers, for the transportation of cargo.

  • Loading and unloading goods safely and efficiently.

  • Performing pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, cold storage units, and other essential equipment.

  • Overseeing the general condition of the truck and performing preventive maintenance.

  • Conducting brake adjustments and minor roadside emergency repairs when necessary.

  • Recording cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled, and fuel consumption in driver logbooks and other required documentation.

  • Communicating effectively with central dispatch to receive and relay information.

  • Completing and managing documentation such as bills of lading, inspection reports, maintenance reports, and trans-border paperwork.

  • Securing cargo through tarping and ensuring the overall safety and security of goods during transit.

  • Transporting and handling dangerous goods according to safety standards and regulations.

  • Using GPS and other navigation systems to plan and follow routes efficiently.

Education and Experience

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.

  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of truck driving experience.

Licences and Certifications

Applicants must hold the following valid licences and endorsements:

  • AZ Class Licence (Driver’s Licence – Class 1 or A).

  • Air Brakes Endorsement (Air Brake “Z”).

  • Valid Dangerous Goods Certification (preferred for handling restricted cargo).

Additional Knowledge and Specializations

  • Documentation Knowledge: Ability to complete and manage bills of lading, logbooks, inspection reports, maintenance records, and trans-border documentation.

  • Equipment Knowledge: Experience operating dump trucks, tractor-trailers, and vehicles with manual transmissions.

  • Communication Systems: Skilled in using GPS and other electronic navigation equipment for route planning.

Security and Safety Requirements

  • Valid passport (required for cross-border transport).

  • Driver’s licence validity check.

  • Abstract and driving record check.

  • Drug and alcohol test clearance.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

This role requires attention to detail, patience, and the ability to manage repetitive tasks. Key conditions include extended periods of sitting while driving, handling loads of up to 23 kg (50 lbs), operating manual transmission vehicles, and the ability to manage the physical demands of tarping, loading/unloading, and equipment operation.

Tools and Equipment

Successful applicants are expected to have or use the following: cellular phone for communication, steel-toed safety boots for workplace protection, safety vest and gloves for compliance with safety requirements.

Compensation and Benefits
