About the Opportunity: Packing Operator at Bridge St., Eltham

Fonterra’s Bridge St. factory is where we craft some of New Zealand’s most beloved cheeses, including Kapiti and Mainland. Our cheese is special – made by hand using locally sourced milk and awarded internationally for its quality. We’re a proud part of the Taranaki community, with a rich history spanning over a century.

We have multiple fixed-term (8-12 months) and permanent Packing Operator positions available. If you’re eager to grow your career and be part of a highly engaged team, this is a fantastic opportunity.

Your Role as a Process and Packing Operator:

• Health & Safety and Quality Focused: Prioritize safety and quality in all aspects of your work.
• Problem Solver: Troubleshoot plant breakdowns and maintenance issues.
• Tech Savvy: Operate touch-screen machinery with confidence.
• Documentation: Accurately complete relevant documentation.
• Day Shift: Enjoy a consistent schedule, Monday-Thursday, 6am-4pm.

Your Skills & Experience:

While a passion for food processing is key, we’re also looking for:

• A strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Experience with machine operation (food manufacturing experience preferred but not required)
• Excellent attention to detail and teamwork ability
• Self-motivation and good time management
• Ability to work in a hygienic environment
• Good communication skills and physical fitness (lifting up to 25kg required)
