About the Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available for a capable and enthusiastic Livestock Hand to join a well-regarded farming operation located near Campbell Town, Tasmania. This is a full-time position suited to someone with a solid background in livestock management or an experienced hand looking for a fresh start in a supportive and scenic environment.
You will work across a mixed livestock enterprise, handling both sheep and cattle. The role is varied and hands-on, offering involvement in everything from breeding programs to fattening paddocks. A strong work ethic and a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions are essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Livestock Hand, your duties will include the day-to-day care and handling of livestock, assisting with feeding and mustering, basic animal health treatments, and general farm maintenance. You will be expected to operate farm machinery including tractors, and support fencing, yard work, and water system upkeep.
You’ll be part of a collaborative team but also expected to manage tasks independently when required.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will have at least 2–3 years of livestock experience, ideally working with both sheep and cattle. You’ll have a practical understanding of farm operations and livestock care, as well as basic skills in operating tractors and other machinery.
Applicants with trained working dogs are highly regarded. A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for livestock farming are key qualities we’re looking for.
