About the Role

Are you a compassionate, responsible, and energetic individual with a genuine love for children? We are currently seeking a Live-In Child Caregiver to join our family in beautiful Langdon, Alberta. As a live-in caregiver, you will be entrusted with creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for our children while also contributing to the overall upkeep of our home. This role is ideal for someone who is dependable, patient, and organized, with a warm and engaging personality.

Key Responsibilities

As a Live-in Caregiver, your daily responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Child Supervision & Development

  • Provide attentive care to children in a safe and stimulating environment.

  • Tend to the emotional, physical, and social well-being of the children.

  • Support children’s personal hygiene routines and social skill development.

  • Assist with homework and educational activities.

  • Organize games, crafts, and outdoor outings to encourage creativity and learning.

Household Duties

  • Assume full household responsibility in the absence of parents.

  • Light housekeeping and cleaning duties to maintain a tidy home environment.

  • Wash, iron, and press clothing and household linens.

  • Prepare and serve nutritious meals for the children and assist with feeding if required.

  • Accompany children to and from school and appointments as needed.

Behavioral Support

  • Discipline children according to family values and provided guidelines.

  • Encourage positive behavior through reinforcement strategies.

Cooking & Meal Preparation

  • Plan and prepare healthy and child-friendly meals.

  • Involve children in meal preparation activities where appropriate.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent.

  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar child care role (live-in or live-out).

  • Languages: English (essential).
    Asset Languages: Ndebele (South) is considered an asset but not required.

Employment Requirements

This role is on-site only and requires the caregiver to reside in the home provided by the family. Remote work is not available for this position.
