Job Overview

The Host/Hostess plays a key role in creating exceptional guest experiences. You will manage bookings, greet and seat guests, provide accurate information, and support restaurant operations while maintaining high service standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously

• Handle reservations accurately and update messages

• Provide guests with accurate information about the outlet and hotel

• Maximize table occupancy and manage waiting lists

• Monitor booking constraints and future schedules

• Maintain knowledge of all foods and drinks offered

• Keep guest profiles updated in the booking system

• Communicate reservations to the Manager or Headwaiter

• Coordinate large bookings with the Manager before confirmation

• Greet guests warmly, using their names, and escort them to seats

• Engage naturally with guests and upsell when appropriate

• Report complaints or comments to the Manager or Headwaiter

• Promote hotel outlets and services

• Perform additional tasks as required

Requirements

• Excellent guest service skills and attention to detail

• Ability to work under pressure and unsupervised

• High standard of personal presentation

• Confident, professional, and welcoming personality

• Very good spoken and written English

• Flexibility to work in shifts

• Hands-on experience with cash handling and Micros Simphony POS is preferred

• Valid local Food Handling License in accordance with the Food Safety Commission of Malta
