As part of our continued commitment to high-quality service and operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced General Store Manager to lead our team and drive performance at our depot.
Position Summary
The General Store Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the bottle depot. The role requires a proactive, well-organized, and adaptable professional who can manage staff, handle customer service challenges, supervise financial transactions, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This is a hands-on managerial position with significant responsibility, including supervising a team of 5–10 employees and ensuring the depot operates efficiently and profitably.
Key Responsibilities

Evaluate the day-to-day activities of the store to ensure smooth operations

Develop and implement operational plans for staff schedules, resource allocation, and customer service

Supervise, assign tasks, and manage the performance of a team of 5–10 employees or volunteers

Monitor inventory, manage supply shortages, and resolve operational issues as they arise

Handle customer requests and complaints professionally to ensure client satisfaction

Plan, prepare, and manage budgets; track revenues and expenses and ensure financial targets are met

Conduct and analyze market research to identify consumer trends, assess competition, and forecast sales opportunities

Determine staffing needs, lead the recruitment and hiring process, and train new staff

Ensure all safety, cleanliness, and environmental guidelines are adhered to

Supervise both office staff and volunteers when required
Work Setting
This position is strictly on-site, based at the physical premises of Canmore Bottle Depot. Remote work is not available.

Education & Experience Requirements

Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience

Experience: Minimum 1 year and up to 2 years of relevant management experience in a similar environment
