Work Environment

The role involves hands-on outdoor work in all weather conditions. You’ll work in corn, cauliflower, potato, zucchini, and mixed vegetable fields. The environment can be hot, cold, windy, dusty, noisy, and physically challenging. Tasks require lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs), bending, crouching, kneeling, and walking for long periods.

Key Responsibilities

Crop Care & Field Work: Hoeing between rows, weeding, cleaning fields, clearing stones and wood, cutting crops, and preparing seeds.
Harvesting & Processing: Hand harvesting vegetables, sorting produce, separating marketable and non-marketable products, grading fruits and vegetables by size, shape, and colour, and packing produce.
Quality Control: Inspecting vegetables for freshness, maintaining cleanliness, and following farm standards.

Crops You’ll Handle

Cauliflower, sweet corn, zucchini, potatoes, and assorted vegetables.

Skills & Requirements

Education: No degree or certification required.
Experience: Experience is an asset but not mandatory.
Personal Qualities: Reliability, flexibility, teamwork, and quick learning ability.
Physical Needs: Ability to perform repetitive tasks, lift heavy loads, maintain hand-eye coordination, bend, kneel, and stand for extended duration.
