We are a family-operated, mixed farming enterprise located in Williams, a rural town just 1.5 hours south of Perth, WA. Our farm primarily manages a 700+ head breeding herd of Angus cattle, operates a seasonal feedlot, and produces hay and grain to support livestock. Additionally, we maintain a small flock of sheep, making this a well-rounded farming operation.
We are seeking a reliable Farm Labour / Stockperson to join our team in a long-term, permanent capacity. If you are honest, self-motivated, and eager to work in a supportive team environment, this position could be ideal for you.
Job Responsibilities
As a Farm Labour / Stockperson, your duties will include:
- Livestock Management: Handling and caring for our Angus cattle and assisting with the sheep flock as needed. This includes feeding, conducting regular health checks, and managing the seasonal feedlot.
- Farm Maintenance and Labour: Performing routine maintenance on fencing, machinery, and other farm infrastructure. You will also assist in general labour tasks to ensure the farm operates smoothly.
- Crop and Feed Production: Assisting with planting, seeding, hay production, and harvesting to maintain a stable food supply for livestock.
- Additional Farm Duties: Supporting various other aspects of farm operations, from livestock welfare to equipment upkeep, ensuring the property is well-maintained year-round.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who brings reliability, a positive work ethic, and excellent communication skills to the job. This role is suited for a self-motivated individual who enjoys both independent tasks and team projects.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Cattle and Livestock Experience: Prior experience with cattle is essential, as you will be working closely with our large breeding herd.
- Driver’s License: A valid Australian driver’s license is required. Holding an MR or HR license is an added advantage but not mandatory.
- Adaptable and Hands-On: You should be comfortable working outdoors in varied weather, performing manual labour tasks, and tackling responsibilities independently or in a team setting.
