Location: Langford, BC, V9B 5X7
Work Setting: On-site, employer’s private home (rural area)
Work Site Environment: Non-smoking, scent-free household
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time
Work Hours: 40 hours per week (08:00 a.m. – 04:00 p.m., Monday to Friday)
Salary: $18.90 – $19.00 per hour (negotiable)

Education & Experience

Secondary (High School) Graduation Certificate or equivalent experience
Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in child care or early childhood education

Credentials & Certifications

Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate (preferred)

Responsibilities & Key Duties

As a child care provider in a private home, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide full-time supervision and care for children, ensuring their safety and well-being.

  • Change diapers and assist with toilet training as directed by parents.

  • Bathe, dress, feed, and prepare children for daily activities and rest periods.

  • Sterilize bottles, prepare infant formulas, and serve nutritious meals.

  • Organize educational and recreational activities such as games, crafts, and outings.

  • Teach and guide children in personal hygiene, manners, and social development.

  • Support emotional well-being by providing a nurturing, patient, and positive environment.

  • Maintain daily records of activities, meals, and any health concerns.

  • Perform light housekeeping, laundry, and general cleaning related to child care.

  • Shop for food and household supplies as needed.

  • Accompany family on trips, assisting with child supervision and light household duties.

  • Follow parental guidelines regarding discipline, schedules, and routines.

Transportation & Travel:

  • Must have own vehicle and valid driver’s licence

  • Willingness to travel with family when required
