Hilton Toronto & Hilton Mississauga Meadowvale are looking for a motivated Catering Sales Manager to join their team for a 3-month contract. Key Responsibilities
As the Catering Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the success of the hotel’s catering and event services. Your main responsibilities include:
- Managing Customer Relationships:
- Draft proposals and contracts for social and corporate events.
- Respond promptly to customer inquiries and requests.
- Work closely with clients to organize event details, from meetings and meals to special corporate events.
- Maintain effective communication with clients, ensuring all arrangements are clearly outlined and executed to the highest standard.
- Supervising Event Logistics:
- Oversee the setup and execution of both social and corporate meetings, ensuring that every detail aligns with client expectations.
- Provide direction and guidance to catering and event services managers, as well as other hotel departments responsible for the event’s execution.
- Client Interaction and Sales:
- Represent Hilton Toronto during client meetings, property tours, and conferences to promote the hotel’s catering and event facilities.
- Use discretion to negotiate contracts with clients and work with vendors to ensure event success.
- Meet with and entertain potential clients, showcasing Hilton’s commitment to excellence and sealing new business opportunities.
- Event Planning and Support:
- Assist the Director of Catering and Director of Sales with large events, ensuring smooth execution from start to finish.
- Support the planning of events, coordinating with various departments to ensure logistics are managed efficiently.

- Banquet and Event Etiquette:
- You should be knowledgeable in guest relations and service standards, ensuring a high-quality experience for all attendees.
- Time Management and Autonomy:
- This role requires the ability to work independently, manage your time efficiently, and multitask across several projects. You’ll need to balance client needs and operational demands, often under tight deadlines.
- Hotel Operations Knowledge:
- Understanding hotel operations, staffing, safety regulations, security protocols, and union rules is essential. You should also be familiar with fire, police, and health codes, as well as city ordinances that may affect events.
- Tech-Savvy Skills:
- You should be comfortable navigating various software tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as industry-specific systems like Delphi, Market Vision, OnQ, InFocus, and the hotel’s in-house CAD program (Optimum Settings). Being proficient in these platforms will enable you to manage client details and operational tasks with ease.
- Contract Management:
- Ensuring compliance with hotel policies, guidelines, and checklists when drafting and completing contracts is crucial to this role.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Building relationships with clients and delivering an outstanding guest experience is key to this role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are required to maintain a positive and professional rapport with clients.
- Ability to Work Under Pressure:
- Catering sales is a fast-paced environment, particularly during busy periods. You must be able to stay composed and handle stressful situations while delivering exceptional service.
