Key Responsibilities:

As a Cabinet Maker at Artek Joinery, your responsibilities will include:

  • Blueprint Analysis: Study blueprints or drawings of articles to plan cutting or shaping operations.
  • Material Matching: Select materials based on color, grain, and texture for quality results.
  • Machine Operation: Set up and operate woodworking machines, including power saws, jointers, moulders, and CNC machinery to shape parts from wood stock.
  • Hardware Installation: Use hand tools to install hardware such as hinges, catches, and drawer pulls.
  • Surface Preparation: Trim, sand, and scrape surfaces and joints to ensure a flawless finish.
  • Quality Assurance: Verify dimensions and check the quality and fit of pieces to meet specifications.
  • Customer Consultation: Discuss project details with customers to draw up precise specifications.
  • Timber Cutting: Cut timber accurately to size and shape using hand tools, ensuring a snug fit.
  • Assembly and Installation: Assemble and install wooden components to create finished products, including furniture and cabinetry.

About You:

To be considered for this role, candidates must have:

  • Experience: At least 3 years of working experience as a Cabinet Maker or in a similar role.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship with a good knowledge of cabinet making practices.
  • Team Player: Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Full Working Rights: Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.
