Delivery drivers are responsible for transporting goods from one location to another, often using a delivery vehicle such as a truck or van. Some common duties of delivery drivers include:

• Ensuring that deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements in the most efficient manner
• Loading and unloading the vehicle with packages or freight
• Inspecting the vehicle for maintenance needs and performing basic maintenance tasks
• Ensuring that appropriate forms completed
• Following the most efficient routes to make deliveries on time
• Communicating with dispatch to coordinate delivery schedules
• Delivering merchandise to the  customer in a safe and timely manner

• Maintaining accurate delivery logs and records
• Providing excellent customer service and representing the company in a professional manner

Delivery Driver job Criteria

• At least 18 years old
• Valid driver license
• High school diploma or comparable certification (e,g GED )
• Ability to speak a second language

To be a delivery driver, you generally need to have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Some companies may have additional requirements, such as minimum age or a certain amount of driving experience. Delivery drivers should also be able to lift and carry heavy packages and be able to navigate using a map or GPS. Good communication and customer service skills are also important in this role.
