About the Team:
Our legal team serves as the foremost legal support lines for all Bytedance consumer-focused products, including TikTok. We help our technical and business teams to identify by providing integrated legal guidance and support. The TikTok team is growing rapidly and is looking for experienced, knowledgeable and competent legal professionals to join the team. One of the critical challenges is the need for our team to provide specialized legal support for the Trust & Safety team at TikTok.
Responsibilities:
– Serve as a key support to the Trust & Safety business team, including content policy, law, IP performance, privacy practices, and other Trust & Safety structures;
– Collaborate with legal and product legal teams around the world to review products, features, new applications and measures to provide risk mitigation strategies to ensure product compliance from US legal perspective with a focus on security, and data privacy issues; and
– Product communication, product performance, public policy, communication, and various other partners in external communication, policy development, and enforcement decisions.
Qualification
– Bachelor and Juris Doctorate degrees from ABA accredited law school
– A member of a good California or New York bar
– Professional level of trademark expertise and copyright issues, best company opportunities and practices
– Ability to be responsible for all trademarks and copyright-related activities of the various business categories, including training, marking, risk assessment, prosecution, compliance and law enforcement, in a fast and efficient environment.
– 8 years or more of relevant experience, especially product advice on business technology or advanced consumer digital application, which integrates user-generated content
– Experience working with international teams in non-US markets in a highly active environment
– Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills in a diverse and global context
– Ability to understand and resolve complex legal and business issues
– Ability to successfully translate IP news to members of the creative team, technology, business, management and legal team
