Job Summary

Kim Anh Vietnamese Submarines Ltd., a popular Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Calgary, Alberta, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Restaurant Manager to lead daily operations and ensure an exceptional dining experience for our customers. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing restaurant activities, supervising staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food quality, service, and hygiene.

Work Location: On site (no remote option)
Salary: $36.50 per hour
Hours: 40 hours per week
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time
Schedule: Evening, Night, Weekend, Flexible hours

Key Responsibilities

As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of restaurant operations, including financial performance, customer satisfaction, and staff management. Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Operational Management

    • Plan, organize, and direct daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and profitability.

    • Monitor and evaluate day-to-day activities to ensure smooth and consistent service.

    • Develop operational strategies to improve workflow and reduce costs without compromising quality.

    • Analyze budgets to maintain profit margins and minimize waste.

  • Financial and Inventory Control

    • Prepare financial reports, monitor sales performance, and ensure that operational targets are met.

    • Modify menu pricing and food preparation methods according to budget requirements.

    • Estimate ingredient and supply requirements for meal preparation.

    • Maintain accurate records of stock, sales, wastage, and equipment repairs.

  • Human Resource Management

    • Supervise, train, and motivate staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures.

    • Recruit, hire, and conduct performance reviews for restaurant employees.

    • Schedule shifts and assign tasks to ensure adequate coverage during operating hours.

    • Foster a positive and professional work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.

  • Customer Service and Quality Assurance

    • Ensure that food and service consistently meet the restaurant’s quality control standards.

    • Address and resolve customer complaints promptly and effectively.

    • Monitor staff interactions with customers to ensure a welcoming and professional dining atmosphere.

    • Implement strategies to enhance the overall customer experience.

  • Compliance and Safety

    • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

    • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene across all restaurant areas.

    • Train staff on emergency procedures and workplace safety protocols.

  • Event Management

    • Plan and oversee special events, promotions, and private functions.

    • Coordinate event logistics and staffing to ensure success.
