Position: Footwear Salesperson – Retail

Employment Type: Permanent, Part-time (29 hours per week), possibly leading to Full-time

Salary: $20.00–$25.00 per hour (negotiable)

Requirements
Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
Experience: 3 to less than 5 years in a similar role
Language: English

Workplace & Setting

  • On-site only (no remote work)

  • Specialty retail environment

  • Shoe store or orthopedic-focused setting

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept cash, cheque, credit card or debit payments

  • Operate cash register and computerized inventory systems

  • Supervise staff (apprentices, stage hands, design team, etc.)

  • Provide customer service and merchandise advice

  • Perform data entry and maintain sales records

  • Assist in merchandise display and preparation

  • Advertise and promote sales, products, and services

  • Greet customers and assess their needs

Experience Specialization

  • Background in fashion or art design (particularly footwear) preferred

  • Familiarity with orthopedic or specialty footwear is an asset

Physical Demands

  • Lifting up to 23 kg (50 lbs)

  • Standing for extended periods

  • Bending, crouching, kneeling

  • Repetitive tasks

  • Fast-paced, physically demanding environment

  • Ability to distinguish between colours

  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking
